U13/2 – Round 1 v Bankstown

NSW YC – Creak Shield

12 October, 2025, Armour Park – Revesby

It was a warm summer’s day at Armour Park in Revesby, as Manly Warringah U13/2 took on Bankstown in the first game of the season. Bankstown won the toss and elected to bat first in sticky, hot conditions.

The outfield was lightning quick and Bankstown opened with a strong partnership of 47, until Tom and Ollie combined for the first wicket. Bankstown were on 87 when the second wicket fell, this time Liam was the bowler and Tom took the catch. Bankstown ultimately scored 202 off their 40 overs, Harry Cordingley top scoring with a 53 before being bowled by Zac.

Zac later on went to take another wicket, caught and bowled, with Leo taking one too, assisted by a catch from wicket keeper Archie. The wind picked up over lunch and rain clouds neared the ground.

The second innings started with a great opening partnership between Jack and Sam. They made 67 together after only 12.2 overs. Atticus was run out with a great throw on 7, and then Leo came in. Leo and Jack had an incredible partnership, scoring 84 together, before Jack got out LBW on 62 off 75, a new high score for him.

Archie then came in and gave us a masterclass on hitting boundaries, scoring 22 not out with 5 4’s off 17 balls, while Leo, still in scoring fast but steadily, ended up on 60 not out off 58. Manly ended up chasing down Bankstown’s score of 202 after 33.4 overs and 7 wickets remaining.
