The day began in chaos with a late decision to move the match back to the original turf pitch, only to find it unplayable on arrival. After a quick dash back to Peter Miller Oval (with two overs deducted), the boys reset and delivered a fantastic all-round performance. With the bat, Nate was unstoppable at the top, crafting 120* off 130, anchoring the innings with maturity and intent. Archie provided good support with a strong 91 off 136. Beau added an important late boost, striking 27 off 24 to close out the innings with momentum.
Lunch was a 10/10 Fairfield started their innings in strong fashion and kept the pressure on. It was Jacob, who took the crucial early wicket to shift the tone of the chase, finishing with an excellent 3/49 off 9. Max was outstanding bowling tight lines all innings and ending with a superb 3/17 off 8. The match tightened — Fairfield needing 22 runs off 30 balls, but we only needed one wicket — Ben Peak saved the day producing a beauty, crashing into middle stump to seal a well-earned win.
