U17 – Round 4 v Parramatta

2 November 2025

Manly’s innings got off to a lively start thanks to Mitch’s 29 (22), setting a strong foundation early. Rohit (70) played a composed anchor role while Harvey (28) supported well to keep the momentum steady. Through the middle overs, Darcy and Rocco (35) added valuable runs, before late contributions from Murray (19 off 12) and Lewis (22 off 22) pushed Manly to a competitive total of 261.
Parramatta began their chase briskly, but Lewis made the breakthrough in the 10th over to peg them back. Tight spells from Will, Murray, Cooper, and Rocco through the next 15 overs kept Manly on top and runs hard to come by. The 20th over saw Thomas make a key breakthrough, removing their number three batter.
As the innings progressed, Parramatta found themselves under increasing pressure, with the required run rate climbing towards 10 an over after 35 overs. This forced their batters to take more risks, leading to an exciting finish. With 6 runs needed off the final over, Rocco struck a crucial blow by dismissing the centurion with four runs still required. However, an unfortunate boundary off the second-last ball handed Parramatta a narrow win.
Conclusion: Despite the heartbreaking finish, Manly produced a strong all-round performance. Consistent batting contributions, disciplined bowling, and great fight in the field nearly defended a tough total.
