Mollie Dive round three North Shore Blue Vs Manly Warringah at Koola Park.
As we finished warming up, captains Tilly and Sonia announced that we were blowing first. Having faced this team before in a trial match, we had a brief idea on what we were coming up against. Now on the field and ready to go.
Sonia with ball in hand, she steams in to bowl the first ball of the game to get us underway. A few balls later, Sonia takes the first wicket and continues to get two more wickets, finishing with 3 for 17 from 5 overs. Matilda Brown supported Sonia with constantly bowling tight and leaving the batter shivering in her shoes. Tilly proceeded to do this for six overs. Great bowling, definitely setting the standard for everyone. Mya bowled accurately, not giving runs away and taking two great wickets in two balls. Emily chipped in with three tight overs and snatched a wicket of her own. Overall a great fielding and bowling innings restricting North Shore to only 120 from thirty overs.
Our opening batters Trinity and Sonia got us off to the perfect start with a sixty two run partnership! Trinity top scoring with 39. Then Matilda Brown scored a quick ten. There was a series of small partnerships and the game was on a knife’s edge. Sally and Robbo performed a rescue mission. Scoring the winning runs in the last over of the day. Nervously standing on the sideline praying to the cricket gods the team ran on screaming in celebration.
Thank You to our very supportive families and coaches that watched intensely. Manly move to the top of the table heading into the Christmas break.
