U15/1 Round 6 v Northern Districts

15 NSW Youth Championship Weblin Shield, Els Hall Park, 12th November 2023

The boys pulled up to Els Hall Park on a great sunny day, eager for the game ahead. We started with our warmup followed by our new addition of the pre-game soccer match, that was very intense.
Lachie won the toss and elected to bowl as we thought that the wicket would have something in it for the bowlers, and this was a great call as big Tom came steaming in from over one picking up the wicket of their opener. After about 10 overs NDs were in big trouble at about 5-20 with 4 from Tom and one for Lachie. They then built a good partnership, but sure enough Tom was there to dismiss him, with Tom ending the day with 5-24 (10 overs). A great spell of bowling. Between Stew and Gleeso, they completely dried up the runs with Stew getting 1-24 off 10 and Gleeso getting 1-18 off 10. Freddie then picked up the big wicket of their set batter which turned the game. Their number 10 and 11 put on a big partnership of about 50 to then get them to a decent total of 10/159.

After an absurd amount of throw downs Paddy and Aidan Kurtis strode out to the middle chasing 160. Kurtis and Paddy started us off well with a partnership of 37 before Kurtis was dismissed, in came Boults and unfortunately, he got out early bringing the captain Lachie to the crease. Paddy and Lachie settled the game down and built a partnership until Paddy was dismissed to make us 3-45. Miles then came in and started smashing the spin bowlers around for multiple sixes to swing the momentum of the game in our favour before he was caught at fine leg for a quick fire 47. This left us at 4-100, Will then came in and he and Lachie completely controlled the game and put on a big partnership of 60 to get us to 5-152 with the game basically won for us, Tom then came in and him and Will comfortably getting us over the line, with Lachie getting 31 and Will getting 30*

Well done to Tom for his first 5 wicket haul in reps!
